PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out display without losing grayscale expression even when a liquid crystal panel having a few number of driven grayscales is used. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal panel is driven on the basis of a combination of a driving signal of the liquid crystal panel and a preliminarily determined plurality of grayscale characteristics so as to express grayscales in a larger number than the number of driven grayscales of the liquid crystal panel. Otherwise, an image display method is employed which includes a step of driving a liquid crystal panel on the basis of a combination of a driving signal of the liquid crystal panel and a preliminarily determined plurality of grayscale characteristics.
