<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten client's waiting time for receiving a command from a server. <P>SOLUTION: In an image processing system, when a command (multifunction machine control command) to be transmitted to a multifunction machine 10 does not exist at the time of receiving a multifunction machine control command inquiry (command request) from a multifunction machine 10 to be a client, a function server 30 to be a server waits until the lapse of prescribed longest staying time without immediately transmitting a response to the received request.
