<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic percussion instrument which can generate various musical sounds according to the movement of a hitting beater and provides playing expression that can not be provided by a conventional acoustic percussion instrument. <P>SOLUTION: When a beater 3 hits a drum pad 1, a shutter 10 overlaps with a position detecting sensor 11. At that point, a contact signal to be output from the position detecting sensor 11 is turned on immediately before the hitting. When a player conducts a hitting operation, musical sound is temporarily generated based on the hitting strength of the drum pad 1. Having passed a prescribed time, the on-time of the contact signal of the position detecting sensor 11 before and after the hitting is investigated. When the on-time after the hitting is longer than the on-time before the hitting, it is determined that a closed shot is conducted and when the on-time after the hitting is shorter than the on-time before the hitting, it is determined that an open shot is conducted and a new sound is faded in while fading out the musical sound being generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
