摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a high-octane number base gasoline in a high yield from hydrocarbons consisting of mainly 4C and/or 5C hydrocarbons recovered as by-products from a catalytic cracker, a thermal cracking plant or the like. SOLUTION: The high-octane number base gasoline is produced by subjecting a hydrocarbon mixture containing 4C and/or 5C hydrocarbons in an amount of≥50 wt% to reforming reaction, using a catalyst mainly composed of a zeolite having an MFI structure which consists of silica and alumina and has a silica/alumina ratio of 50-400. The generated fraction with≥5 carbon atoms has an aromatics content of 10-90 wt%, has an octane value of≥95 by the research method, and gives a yield of≥60 wt% against the raw material of the hydrocarbon mixture.
