PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compound capable of simultaneously introducing a fluoroalkyl group and an imide anionic group in high efficiency and to provide a method capable of readily producing an ordinary temperature molten salt in high yield by using the compound and to obtain a new ordinary temperature molten salt having a wide electric potential window and high ion conductivity. SOLUTION: The new ordinary temperature molten salt is represented by formula (I) [wherein Y<SP>+</SP>is a cation selected from the group consisting of ammonium ion, a sulfonium ion, a pyridinium ion, an (iso)thiazolium ion and an (iso)oxazolium ion which may be substituted with a 1-10C alkyl group and/or a 1-10C alkyl group containing an ether bond, with the proviso that the cation has at least one substituent group represented by the formula CH<SB>2</SB>Rf<SP>1</SP>or OCH<SB>2</SB>Rf<SP>1</SP>(wherein Rf<SP>1</SP>is a 1-10C perfluoroalkyl group); Rf<SP>2</SP>and Rf<SP>3</SP>are each independently a 1-10C perfluoroalkyl group or Rf<SP>2</SP>and Rf<SP>3</SP>together may form a 1-4C perfluoroalkylene group; X is SO<SB>2</SB>or CO].
