Spinning apparatus for the extrusion of two different spinning solutions through common orifices to form conjugate or composite filaments or fibres in which the different components are lamellarly arranged along the entire length of the filament and arranged in an eccentric relationship over the cross-section of the filament is shown in Figs. 1 and 3. The composite spinning head is constructed by stacking alternately a number of component plates 1 and 1<SP>1</SP> which are clamped together, and have cut-outs 2, 3 and 2<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>1</SP>, respectively. Each plate 1 and 1<SP>1</SP> has a front-side recess 4 and 4<SP>1</SP> extending from cutouts 2 and 3<SP>1</SP>, respectively; and are connected to reverse-side recesses 6, 6<SP>1</SP> by pass-through portions 7, 7<SP>1</SP>, respectively which extend through the component plates. The reverse side of the plates also has grooves 8 and 8<SP>1</SP> leading through to the outer periphery which when engaged with plane surfaces of adjacent component plates or with similar grooves formed at opposed positions form orifices. When the plates 1 and 1<SP>1</SP> are stacked and assembled, the cut-outs 2, 3 and 2<SP>1</SP>, 3<SP>1</SP> define passages for the introduction of spinning solutions, the front-side and reverse-side recesses 4, 4<SP>1</SP> and 6, 6<SP>1</SP> respectively define spinning solution branch flow passages, and the intermediate portions serve as partitions 5 and 5<SP>1</SP>. Spinning solutions a and b are passed from supply 12 through passages formed by cut-outs 2, 21 and 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, respectively, and through the spinning solution branch flow passages to reach the pass through or slot portions 7 and 7<SP>1</SP> and are divided into two streams entering the reverse side recesses 6, 6<SP>1</SP>. Thus the spinning solutions a and b join together in recesses 6 or 6<SP>1</SP>, and are finally discharged through orifices 8 or 8<SP>1</SP>. The cross-section of the orifices may be rectangular, circular, U-shaped or triangular. The component plates are preferably made of synthetic resin having a thermal conductivity less than 5 Î 10<SP>-3</SP> cal. cm.<SP>-1</SP> sec.<SP>-1</SP> deg.<SP>-1</SP>. Examples of synthetic resins used in making the plates are polyamides, polycarbonate, polyether, heatresistant polyvinyl chloride, phenol, epoxy and unsaturated polyester resins.
