<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method an a device for generating electric power by a piezoelectric ceramic using flow-induced vibration performing electric power generation by the piezoelectric ceramic converting mechanical energy into electric energy by using a natural phenomenon called flow-induced vibration in fluid dynamics. <P>SOLUTION: In this invented method for generating electric power by the piezoelectric ceramic using flow-induced vibration, a vibration column 1 is installed in water flow 3 in a cantilever style, Karman's vortex train 5 is generated in a downstream side of the water flow 3 in both sides of the vibration column 1, the vibration column 1 is attracted to the Karman's vortex train 5 in the downstream side to periodically generate stress in a lift direction, vibration of the vibration column 1 is continuously excited by this periodical stress, the vibration is transmitted to a piezoelectric vibration plate 2, and the piezoelectric vibration plate 2 vibrates to continuously generate electric power. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
