<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a foreign matter existing on a surface of an optical disk or its neighborhood to be removed. <P>SOLUTION: The optical disk device has a spindle motor 15 for rotating an optical disk 100, an optical pickup 10 for reading or writing information by irradiating the rotating optical disk 100 with an optical beam condensed by an objective lens, an electrode part 20 consisting of a positive electrode 21A and a negative electrode 21B connected with DC power supply 22 capable of generating designated voltage on the surface of the optical pickup 10 facing the optical disk 100, and a thread motor 8 and a rotation screw shaft 9 for moving the optical pickup 10 in a radius direction of the optical disk 100. This electrode part 20 impresses the designated voltage between the positive electrode 21A and the negative electrode 21B by the DC power supply 22, generates static electric power in the positive electrode 21A and the negative electrode 21B, respectively, and attracts dust ds existing on the surface of the optical disk 100 or its neighborhood. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
