<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stent delivery system having a stent causing no looseness or creases in a polymer when inserted in the lumen such as a blood vessel and requiring only a little expansion amount for being closely attached to the lumen inner wall. <P>SOLUTION: The stent 1 is formed by covering both inner/outer circumferential faces of a stent body 10 with a polymer film 2. The stent body 10 is made of a shape-memory alloy having a transformation temperature lower than the body temperature of an organism. The stent 1 is externally fitted around the distal end of a catheter 30 via a balloon 40 and inserted into a sheath 21. When the stent 1 is delivered from the sheath 21, the stent 1 becomes to have a submaximal diameter a little smaller than the maximum diameter.
