PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mechanism for bringing an emergency shelter system of an airplane to an operation preparatory state, releasing and starting it. SOLUTION: The emergency evacuation system includes an escaping slide, and a pneumatic reservoir 148 sealed behind a partitioning plate and filled with pressure gas. The slide includes a captive bar 16 connected to one end part of the slide. When the evacuation system is brought to an operation preparatory state, the captive bar is fixed to a fuselage 12 of the airplane below a door 14. When the evacuation system is in an operation preparatory state, the system is started to expand and spread the slide. When the system is released, the captive bar is fixed to a bottom part of the door, and the emergency evacuation system is not started even when the door is opened. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
