PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an assay for measuring bonding of HCV protein, such as that of hepatitis C virus (HCV) receptor to ligands with respect to a target cell receptor. SOLUTION: This assay is for measuring bonding of HCV receptor coupling ligands to the target cell receptor, which contains a process of measuring of HCV receptor coupling ligands or its competitive bonding analog to the target cell. By using this assay, any vaccine candidate for research purpose and clinical application can be evaluated, and also HCV neutralization antibody can be identified and measured. Here, in clinical applications, diagnosis of the presence of the neutralizing antibody can obtain values in clinical management. Additionally, identitification and characterization of the receptor with respect to HCV are provided, and this receptor facilitates identification and screening of antivirotics which blocks the interaction of the receptor.
