PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for a business phone and a portable telephone or the like by which notification of an abnormal state to a user can be executed by transmitting a voice message in response to power failures of the system or the other abnormalities of the system, and to provide its abnormal state notification method. SOLUTION: When the abnormality is detected with an abnormality detector 11 including a sensor or the like, a control unit 12 composed of a CPU or the like is notified of the abnormality. The notification of the abnormal state to one or more terminals is executed by transmitting a prescribed voice signal to an output part 16 from a voice transmitter 13 or via an external communication network 15, for example, through a voice transmitter 14 from a maintenance center after judging the abnormal state.
