PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe permitting more stable and accurate diagnosis by improving the operability of the ultrasonic probe and inhibiting the displacement and change of the angle when the ultrasonic probe is operated. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic probe 1 has a holding assisting means for bringing fingers of an operator close to a housing of the ultrasonic probe 1 when the operator operates the ultrasonic probe 1. For example, the unevenness 9 is formed on a surface (the surface to which the power is applied from the operator when pressing a head part on a subject 5), nearly facing the head part 2, in the housing 6 of the ultrasonic probe, so that the fingers of the operator can be appropriately brought into close contact with the unevenness.
