<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beam splitter with which wavelength dependency of the reflectivity, transmissivity, and reflection phase difference, and incidence angle dependency of the reflectivity, transmissivity, and reflection phase difference of the beam splitter provided to the optical head of a magneto-optical disk drive or the like can be made small, and an optical pickup device equipped with the same. <P>SOLUTION: The beam splitter 10 provided to the optical pickup device 100 includes a light-source-light incidence side prism 11 on which light from a light source 101 is made incident and a reflected-light incidence side prism 12 on which light reflected by an information recording medium 107 is made incident, and has a multilayer film 13 having a plurality of specific lamination portions, each formed by laminating a low-refractive-index layer, an intermediate-refractive-index layer, and a high-refractive-index layer in order from a reflected-light incidence side, between the light-source-light incidence side prism and reflected-light incidence side prism. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
