PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To clarify the onset/development mechanism of rheumatic arthritis (RA) to provide a new means for treatment or drug discovery for RA by examining the effect of PADI 4 to activities of antithrombin 3. SOLUTION: A condition examination method for rheumatic arthritis uses citrullination levels of antithrombin 3 by PADI 4 as indexes, and an evaluation method for rheumatic arthritis therapeutic agent uses citrullination levels of antithrombin 3 by PADI 4 as indexes.
