<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle controller which can mitigate the amount of the back and forth shifting of a vehicle in the case that the vehicle is stopped on a slope. <P>SOLUTION: The second control part 42 of the vehicle controller instructs first energization to energize a field coil 20a to a first control part 41 and instructs second energization to perform specified energization to each layer of an armature coil of a plurality of phases. Hereby, a motor 20 is locked, and in the case that the vehicle is stopped on a slope, the back and forth shifting of the vehicle is prevented. Furthermore, the second control part 42 instructs the second energization at the stop of the vehicle, and instructs the first energization prior to the second energization instruction taking a time of a response delay of the field coil 20a into consideration. Therefore, as compared with the case of energizing the field coil 20a at the stop of the vehicle, a current of the field coil 20a is made to reach a specified current value quickly.
