<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for processing an image which prevent the occurrence of unnaturalness by an image correction in a common area over the region to be corrected and the region not to be corrected in the input image. <P>SOLUTION: The apparatus for processing the image includes an image input part 101 which inputs image information, an object region setting part 102 for detecting whether the image information inputted from the image input part 101 includes a preset object and setting the detected region, a lacking region setting part 103 for obtaining the part in which the feature as an object set from the region detected by the object region setting part lacks and setting the obtained part as the lacking region, and an image correction part 104 for performing the image correction to the region except the lacking region set by the lacking region setting part from the region detected by the object region setting part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
