<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent degradation of the printing performance of a composite machine, even if charging is carried out, taking into consideration of the case that when an accounting device is connected to a composite machine and accounting is carried out, because of the delay in the transmission and reception of commands between the composite machine and the accounting device and delay in the operation of the charging device, the highest printing performance of the composite machine cannot be realized. <P>SOLUTION: When a composite machine and an accounting device are connected to each other by a circuit, and accounting for printing is carried out by the transmission and reception of commands between them, window size is set between two commands, that is, a command to require accounting issued from the composite machine and a notice of completion of accounting given from the accounting device, and when within the window size, even though the composite machine does not receive the notice of the completion of accounting for a command to require accounting, it will perform subsequent printing.
