PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a throating device for a building sill, which facilitates mounting of a joint on drain boards with good efficiency and contributes to improved workability. SOLUTION: The throating device for the building sill is set up by arranging the drain boards 8 over a ventilation passage between the sill 1 and a foundation 2 in a manner enclosing the passage along peripheral edges of the building, and underfloor ventilation is carried out via the passage between the foundation 2 and the sill 1 by way of a vent hole 8g formed in the drain board 8 at a location outside the building in a manner opening downward. The throating device is comprised of joints 11, 12 which each cover a gap between edges of linear portions of the respective drain boards 8 from outside to conceal the gap between the edges. The joints 11, 12 are each arranged on the drain boards 8 at a predetermined location from outside after mounting of all the drain boards 8 on the building. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
