PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively utilize decontaminated ground by burying an underground pipe to be decomposed by an underground microbe in the contaminated ground and leaving the buried underground pipe as it is when the contaminated ground is decontaminated so that the underground pipe is decomposed by the underground microbe and converted into harmless substances such as carbon dioxide to become no hindrance to the excavating work of the ground. SOLUTION: This method for decontaminating the contaminated ground comprises the steps of: burying the underground pipe constituted mainly of biodegradable plastics in the contaminated ground to decontaminate the contaminated ground through the underground pipe; and leaving the buried underground pipe in the contaminated ground as it is to decompose the underground pipe by the underground microbe.
