PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a book stand suitable for storing books and files with backs and edges of different thickness. SOLUTION: The book stand has side boards connected with each other with hinges, etc. The side boards and a back board open and close in a fan-like form by such a joint. Also, a side board which is a part of the book stand is connected with a side board which is a part of another book stand and such side boards open and close with each other in a fan-like form by such a joint.
