<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solid-state imaging apparatus for protecting an imaging element with a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: The solid-state imaging apparatus 1 includes: holders 3, 4 for holding a lens 2; the imaging element 6; and a board 7 on the other side of which the imaging element is mounted than the side with the lens mounted thereon, wherein the holders are formed to accommodate the board and the imaging element in the inside of the holders and an end 3BT of the holders is projected more than the imaging element 6. Since the ends of the holders in the solid-state imaging apparatus 1 are formed projectingly more than the imaging element, contact of the other components with the outer circumference and the bottom of the imaging element can be avoided and the imaging element can be protected from being damaged.
