<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a development method by which toner flying-off can be effectively suppressed over a prolonged period of time, with respect to a development method in which a thin toner layer is formed on a development roll through a magnetic roll with a two-component developer and an electrostatic latent image formed on an electrostatic latent image bearing member is developed by a noncontact process. <P>SOLUTION: A toner prepared by externally adding silica powder and titanium oxide powder each having an average particle diameter of ≤20 nm to resin particles in which at least a colorant has been dispersed is used as a toner to be mixed with a magnetic carrier, and when an external addition amount of the silica powder based on the amount of the resin particles is represented by X% and that of the titanium oxide powder by Y%, conditions of the formulae: 0.4≤X≤1.2 and 0.1≤Y≤0.5X-0.1 are satisfied. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
