<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new technology for providing the individual information of merchandise circulating in the market to a consumer without using any exclusive database for managing individual information concerning merchandise, or without forcing the use of any identification code designed in a predetermined specific code system. <P>SOLUTION: Each code system whose uniqueness is secured is provided with an information exchanging server for managing the corresponding relation of a code described by the code system and a command capable of acquiring merchandise individual information shown by the code. A terminal inputs the code of the code system applied to the merchandise, and requests the information exchanging server to provide a command associated with the code for procuring the command.
