<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cryosurgery apparatus and a method for controlling temperature by which cryo-treatment of a lesion in the body such as the stomach is possible and temperature is controlled precisely. <P>SOLUTION: In the cryosurgery apparatus comprising a probe 20 for freezing the lesion and a flexible tube 10 for sending a coolant to the probe, the probe 20 comprises: a Peltier element having one surface contacting with the lesion 40; and a heat transmission part for thermally connected with the other surface of the Peltier element. The flexible tube 10 has multi-tube structure and is provided with pores through which the coolant 1 is made to flow from the inside of the tube 11 outside of the multi-tube structure into an inside tube 12 to expand the coolant in order to cool the heat transmission part. The cryosurgery apparatus applies voltage to the Peltier element to keep a surface contacting with the lesion of the probe 20 to be at normal temperature, and switches the polarity of the applied voltage to the Peltier element for cooling the surface contacting with the lesion for controlling the temperature. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
