PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a car navigation system or the like enabling a driver to input a destination with an ambiguous retrieval condition, and capable of setting a new destination without imposing a troublesome operation on the driver even if the destination state is changed. SOLUTION: The destination of the driver or the like and a prescribed condition on the destination on the automobile side are input. The prescribed condition includes a relation condition for specifying the relation with the destination of an occupant such as the driver, precedence for showing the degree of collating with the relation condition, and an attribute condition for specifying the content or the like of information on the attribute of the destination on the automobile side. Route guidance is performed along the recommended route to the optimum destination on the automobile side determined, based thereon, and the newest information on the attribute of the optimum destination on the automobile sided and a destination candidate is acquired from a server. When it is determined that a furthermore optimum destination candidate on the automobile side exists, processing from calculation of a recommended route is repeated by using again the destination candidate on the automobile side as the optimum destination on the automobile side.
