<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device with which a map image displayed on a display screen can be brought near to a scene existing ahead of a user's line of vision. <P>SOLUTION: The origin is determined with which the angle of rotationθaround the x axis of the display screen 10a is calculated. When the origin is determined, the angle of rotationθaround the x axis of the display screen 10a is calculated. When the angle of rotationθis calculated, whether or not the angle of rotationθis above a prescribed angle or above is judged. When it is judged that the angle of rotationθis≥45°, the three-dimensional map image data for displaying a three-dimensional map is generated. On the other hand, when judged that the angle of rotationθis not≥45°, the two-dimentional image data for displaying the three-dimentional map is generated.
