PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage virtualization device for easily specifying a host computer in an influential range, and for minimizing the influential range when a physical storage device such as a connected hard disk device breaks down or stops, and for providing a virtual storage device fulfilling requested characteristics for every host computer. SOLUTION: This storage virtualization device A is provided with a storage virtualizing means 12 for making host computers H1 to H4 recognize a storage region obtained by combining one part or whole part of the storage regions of a pluarality of physical storage devices S1 to S5 as virtual storage devices 18a and 18b. This storage virtualizing means 12 is provided with a physical storage grouping means 12a for grouping the plurality of physical storage devices S1 to S5 into a plurality of groups, and for configuring each virtual storage device 18a only of the storage regions of the physical storage devices S1 and S2 belonging to the common group.
