<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device, etc. having a shape extraction part for extracting the shape of an object in an image, which is capable of extracting an inner part (inner side) or an outer part (outer side) by the predetermined range for a border of the object as the contour information of the object. <P>SOLUTION: An outline extraction part extracts a rough contour of an object in an original image. Based on the rough contour, the shape extraction part extracts a detailed contour. An outline extraction condition determination part determines conditions for setting a template size, etc. and contents of necessary image processing. An outline calculation part calculates a rough contour by the setting conditions. A shape extraction condition determination part establishes conditions necessary for extracting detailed contour, and a shape calculation part extracts the detailed contour.
