<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a coating composition giving a hard coat film having excellent adhesiveness, scratch resistance, solvent resistance and weather resistance and free from small pits and recesses on the surface when applied to the surface of a plastic lens, especially a hard coat film having high refractive index. <P>SOLUTION: A composition containing (A) a metal oxide sol containing an amine compound such as diisopropylamine, (B) a polycondensable silicon compound having an epoxy group such as γ-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane and (C) a curing catalyst such as tris(2,4-pentanedionato)aluminum(III) is produced by mixing the component A with the component B preferably at ≥10°C and <40°C for ≥6 hr and mixing the obtained mixture with the component C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
