PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system capable of being adapted to an environment wherein services are daily disorderly increased/decreased.

SOLUTION: A composite machine displays a service selection menu (s116) on the basis of service definition information about which the composite machine inquires of a directory service so as to allow a user to designate services for requesting provision of the services from a function server. Since the composite machine can grasp services providable by the function server by receiving the service definition information from the directory server in this way, the load imposed on the composite machine can be suppressed even under the environment wherein services are daily disorderly increased/decreased. Further, since the service selection menu indicates services of a plurality of different directory servers in a way that the same services of the same categories in a plurality of the different directory servers are deleted and the same services are not displayed as choices and no unnecessary confusion is caused onto the user.
