PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus with a simple mechanism which moves/turns an LCD and is used for easy recognition of an object image on the LCD. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with: a main body unit for capturing the object image inputted via a photographic lens by an imaging device to generate an image signal; and an image display unit for displaying an image based on the image signal generated by the main body unit. The imaging apparatus is provided with: a sliding mechanism for sliding the image display unit between a storage position overlapped on the main body unit and a usage position projecting from the main body unit in a predetermined direction along a predetermined storage surface of the main body unit; and a turning mechanism for turning the image display unit slid to the usage position around a turning shaft parallel with a sliding direction.
