PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical communication apparatus which can easily expose a port for vendors to the outside at the time of inspection or function setup and can hide the port from users when the optical communication device is used. SOLUTION: The optical communication apparatus comprises a nearly rectangular parallelepiped housing 1 wherein an optical communication circuit for dealing with optical communication is stored, a storage 2 which is slidably connected to the housing 1 and stores the excessive portion of an optical fiber drawn in from outside, and the port 42 for vendors which is connected to the optical communication circuit and inputs and outputs data. The port 42 for vendors is arranged on the bottom face 110a of the housing 1 so as to be exposed to the outside of the optical communication apparatus by sliding the storage 2 with respect to the housing 1.
