PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high-quality core yarn sewing thread that is suitable for sewing by using an industrial lock-stitch sewing machine, has high-speed sewability, unnoticed difference in dyeing between a core yarn and fibers of a sheath part, unnoticed fluff of seam after sewing and proper stretchability. SOLUTION: The core yarn sewing thread is obtained by using a plurality of core yarns in which an inside sheath part which staple fibers enclose in a cylindrical state in parallel in the length direction of the core yarn composed of an elastic filament is formed and an outside sheath part which comprises staple fibers winding and enclosing the outside layer of the inside sheath part is formed.
