METHOD FOR PREPARING SODIUM HYPOCHLORITE AQUEOUS SOLUTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently preparing a sodium hypochlorite aqueous solution the concentration of bromine of which is reduced in the method for preparing the sodium hypochlorite aqueous solution by reacting chlorine gas obtained by electrolyzing salt water with a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution. SOLUTION: The concentration of bromine contained in the sodium hypochlorite aqueous solution is reduced by reacting a 1st chlorine gas consisting essentially of chlorine gas obtained by the electrolysis of salt water and a 2nd chlorine gas obtained by liquefying and removing bromine from a part of the 1st chlorine gas to reduce the concentration of bromine with the sodium hydroxide aqueous solution, thereby preparing the sodium hypochlorite aqueous solution.
