<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery capable of enhancing battery characteristics such as cycle characteristics. <P>SOLUTION: A separator 23 is impregnated with an electrolyte. The electrolyte contains 4-fluoro-1,3-dioxolane-2-on, and the content of fluorine ions in the electrolyte is preferably 10-3,200 mass ppm. The chemical stability of the electrolyte is thus enhanced and cycle characteristics are enhanced.
