<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved decision method for a basal metabolism amount that the calculated value of the basal metabolism amount correlates with its actual measurement value correctly. <P>SOLUTION: This decision method for the basal metabolism amount consists of a stage to obtain a subject's age, a stage to decide the subject's lean body fat amount, and a stage to decide the subject's basal metabolism amount by using the decided lean body fat amount and the inverse of the age. If the basal metabolism amount (kcal/day) is BMR, the lean body fat amount (kg) is FFM, and constants are A, B, and C, the basal metabolism amount can be decided by using a formula expressed by BMR=A×FFM+B×(1/age)+C. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
