<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a progressive coding/decoding method and equipment for 3-dimensional mesh information. <P>SOLUTION: A progressive coding method of 3-dimensional mesh information is equipped with (a) a step which reconfigurates 3-dimensional mesh in two or more partial meshes, (b) a step which encodes two or more partial meshes, respectively, (c) a step which transmits two or more coded partial mesh corresponding to a compressed bitstream and has a step which reconstructs 3-dimensional mesh compositing a step which divides (a) the transmitted bitstream into the two or more coded partial mesh, (b) a step which decodes the two or more coded partial mesh, respectively, and (c) two or more decoded partial mesh. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
