PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guard interval detecting device and guard interval detecting method, wherein a circuit structure is simplified, the number of symbols for an averaging process is decreased, and even under a situation in which a phase offset is observed or under a MIMO communication environment, a guard interval is accurately detected, and also to provide a frequency offset detecting device capable of adjusting a symbol cycle and a freqency offset concurrently. SOLUTION: The guard interval detecting device 1 detects the guard interval in the case where, when an OFDM signal is transmitted, the guard interval which copied a part of a valid symbol of the OFDM signal is added to just before the valid symbol. The guard interval detecting device 1 comprises a power amplitude value calculation circuit 5, a delay circuit 7, a differential circuit 9, an integration circuit 11 and a peak detection circuit 13.
