PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving image management system capable of suppressing the increase of a storage capacity though high-speed program searching at the time of reproduction is possible by referring to positional information. SOLUTION: The program searching information generation part 34 of a video recorder 13 generates program searching information indicating a position in a video storage part 31 storing video data at a predetermined timing as the positional information at every predetermined timing and stores it in a program searching information storage part 33. Further, a program searching information control part 41 decides whether or not the amount of the program searching information stored in the program searching information storage part 33 exceeds a predetermined threshold, and in the case of exceeding it, thins out the program searching information stored in the program searching information storage part 33 and also changes the timing at which the program searching information generation part 34 stores the program searching information in the program searching information storage part 33 so as to prolong the time interval of storing the program searching information.
