<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club head which can provide an excellent ball hitting feeling by enhancing a shock absorbing property at the time of hitting a ball while suppressing the lowering of repulsive property. <P>SOLUTION: A face member 2 consists of a plate-like body including a face surface 2A, a face back surface 2B and a side end surface 2C. A head body 3 has an opening portion O which surrounds a perpendicular line N from a head centroid G to the face surface 2A and makes the face member 2 freely deform rearward from the head at the time of hitting the ball, and an annular face fitting portion 4 to which the face member 2 is connected is provided around the opening portion O. When the head is divided into four areas of a toe upper part, a toe lower part, a heel upper part and a heel lower part, a shock absorbing body 6 consisting of elastic material is arranged partially between the face member and the face fitting part in at least three of the areas. The whole volume V of the shock absorbing body 6 is 300 to 2,000 mm<SP>3</SP>, and the volume Vn of the shock absorbers included in the three areas satisfies 0.5≤Vn/(V/4)≤1.5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
