PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a silent chain for an engine timing in which the chain wear elongation can be suppressed by raising the distance precision between an engaged surface of a link plate in a multiple overlay state and a pin hole inside, and the distance precision between the pin hole inside and the other surface, etc., and by reducing the vibration and noise in engaging with a sprocket. SOLUTION: In the manufacturing method of the silent chain for the engine timing, shaving is concurrently applied on engaged surfaces 3, 4, the pin hole inside surface 2 and other surface 5 respectively with the sprocket of the link plate 1 composed in the multiple overlay state over the range of 70% of a plate thickness so as to raise the distance precision between these engaged surfaces 3, 4, the pin hole inside 2 and the other surface 5.
