PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silent chain capable of smoothly winding and sliding for a long time without generating elongation due to abnormal wear even when using the silent chain with remarkably deteriorated lubricating oil with a high degree of oxidization. SOLUTION: This silent chain is composed of a guide link plate GLP, a connection pin Q fitted and fixed in a pin hole of the guide link plate, and an inner link plate ILP having a meshing tooth constituted by fitting the connection pin into the pin hole in play. The inner link plate is made of carbon steel, polishing treatment is applied thereto by barrel mixing before heat treatment, surface roughness is made to be 0.5μmRZ or less, and then, chromizing treatment is applied to the surface. Polishing treatment by barrel mixing is applied to the connection pin after forming VC layer on the surface, and the surface roughness thereof is made to be 0.5μmRZ or less, and thereby the above object can be achieved.
