PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a pigment dispersion, the pigment dispersion which enables atomization of an organic pigment at a crystallization step, prevents generation of aggregation at a filtration and at a washing process thereafter, and has excellent stability of dispersion in a fine particle state even when dispersed into water again. SOLUTION: A resin (P) is an acrylic resin which has an acid number of 60-200 and has a side chain having a carboxylic acid group as a terminal group, and has a structure where the side chain is expressed by general formula (1). According to the manufacturing method of the pigment dispersion, the pigment dispersion is obtained by mixing an aqueous solution of a resin acid salt of the resin (P) and a solution of an organic pigment and by crystallizing the pigment.
