PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material feeder which is allowed to have high working speed while the speed can follow to the feed rate of a material on the side of a finishing machine even when conditions on the side of the finishing machine and conditions on the side of an uncoiler are changed. SOLUTION: This feeder is constituted so as to make the material paying-out speed V2 using the reel 23 follow to the feed rate V1 of the material by detecting the feed of the material which is supplied to a working part with an encoder, calculating the feed rate V1 of the material by a material feed rate-arithmetic part 51 on the basis of the feed of the material and simultaneously deciding a supply radius (r) of the material which is payed out from a material bundle which is placed on a reel 23 by the supply radius-arithmetic part 52, calculating the rotational speedωof the reel on the basis of these feeding rate V1 of the material and the supply radius (r) and controlling a reel servomotor 26 for rotationally driving the reel 23 on the basis of this rotational speedωof the reel.
