PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for producing distilled water in which distilled water is prevented from being retained so that the distilled water to be produced can keep high cleanliness. SOLUTION: This apparatus for producing distilled water is provided with a distillation unit having vaporizers arranged in multiple stages, and a condenser. Vaporizers 23 are each provided with a steam inlet chamber 23a into which steam 105 is introduced, a heat exchanger 23b for heating raw water 106 by the introduced steam 105 and a distilled water outlet chamber 23c for discharging the distilled water 117 generated by the heat exchanger 23b. A retained water discharging port 29, which is used for discharging retained water 116 in the steam inlet chamber 23a and has a pressure reducing unit 28, is arranged at the bottom of the steam inlet chamber 23a of the vaporizer 23 and a retained water discharge flow passage 45 is arranged for communicating the retained water discharging port 29 with the steam inlet chamber or the distilled water outlet chamber of the vaporizer at the next stage so that the retained water 116 to be retained in the steam inlet chamber 23a can be discharged.
