A device for coating a food product (4) with a particulate coating material (9) comprises at least one essentially horizontal, rotary drum (3), at least one feed line (1,5) for feeding food products (4) to be coated to one end of the drum (3), at least one removal line (2,8) for removing coated food products (4) at the opposite end of the drum (3), as well as feed means (11) for feeding the coating material (9) to the food products (4), such that when the drum (3) rotates the food products (4) are tumbled and move from the end of the drum (3) that is oriented towards the feed line (1) to the opposite end. At least one further rotary drum (3) is provided, the width of the feed line (1) and the removal line (2) being greater than the diameter of a drum (3) and said lines (1,2) extending over at least two drums (3) in the transverse direction. |
