A laser beam source (11) is allocated to each of a number of linear joint sections in the joining area of the housing. Laser beam sources are mounted on the side of a laser welding head (1) facing the joint area. An Independent claim is made for a laser welding process for joining plastic components in which the latter are moved relative to a laser welding head (1) until each laser source (11) is directed at the sections to be joined. All joints are then simultaneously welded in a single operation.
