<p>The method involves decrementing or incrementing two counters and storing state of the counters in a non-volatile memory of a microcontroller, before execution of a critical section (1) of a program. A flag in a random access memory of the microcontroller is activated in case of detection of an attack attempt by the microcontroller. A state of the flag is checked at the end of the execution of the section of the program. The two counters are verified with respect to set points before the execution of the section. An independent claim is also included for a microcontroller having a non volatile memory zone for storing a state of a counter for implementing a method for protecting a section of a program.</p> |
