PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably carry out the reading of a two-dimensional data symbol. SOLUTION: An almost rectangular reading opening 12 is provided on the bottom face 11 of a head part 10a of a casing 10, and a first switch 13 and a second switch 14 are provided at the outside of the reading opening 12. At the time of reading a symbol positioned in the reading opening 12, the reading mode of the symbol and the brightness of an illumination light or the like are set according to the state of the first switch 13 and the second switch 14, and an image pickup processing is operated. |
